Managing Director (UK) - Darion Pohl

Darion Pohl – Darion is an Aussie who has spent his life living and working across the UK, Australia and NZ. Currently living in the UK, married to a UK national, and having emigrated to live between the UK and Australia four times over his life, he understands the financial requirements, emotions and stresses involved in moving countries. Since commencing his financial career in 1990, Darion has worked for JB Were Goldman Sachs, Deloittes, and William Mercer amongst others including prominent and managerial roles. His 20 year career in finance has been split almost equally between the UK and Australia, having worked for 10 years in each location. Darion is a friendly chap who takes a real interest in his clients. As well as travel, Darion’s personal interests include sport, bushwalks and playing the guitar. Darion holds the following qualifications:

The UK team supporting Darion holds a wealth of experience and includes the following:
Leo Liew
Leo has 40 years of Financial 40 years’ of consultancy experience in employee benefits, pensions and financial planning services. He has held senior positions in leading international employee benefits, management and actuarial consultancy firms, including Willis Group, Mercer and KPMG. He is a qualified financial adviser and is also a pension transfer specialist as approved by the FSA. He is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, The Personal Finance Society and the Institute of Financial Planning.
Malcolm Deering
Malcolm joined the pensions industry in 1969. He has worked as a senior technical consultant with leading firms of international employee benefit consultants, including Mercer and Buck Consulting, providing advice on aspects such as technical matters and scheme governance. He is an associate member of the Association of Pension Lawyers. He is a regular writer in various pension press.
Andrew Hawley
Andrew has over 25 years’ of consultancy experience in the pensions field. He has held senior positions at Scottish Widows, Skandia and Scottish Amicable. He is a qualified financial adviser and a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He has an in-depth experience in all areas of pension arrangements.
Tricia Saunders
Tricia has over 20 years experience in UK pensions administration and was previously the main pensions administrator for a well known UK corporate. Tricia’s previous stints have included working with William Mercer and Noble Lowndes amongst others.

Darion is supported in the UK by a team of UK, Australian and New Zealand nationals. The whole team has a wide rage of skills and experience ranging from Australian based financial advice to in-depth experience in pension transfer administration and financially based immigration issues. In Australia and New Zealand, through affiliate relationships, we work with a team of over 400 well trained and experienced independent financial advisory professionals – who provide a full range of services and have extensive experience in dealing with emigrants and expats. To provide you with the best possible service, the UK, Australian and New Zealand based teams correspond on a daily basis to ensure that all client information is up to date and progressing smoothly. Regular cross border monthly meetings between the international advisory teams are held to ensure that any key changes in legislation are discussed and can be included in the advice we provide you-to ensure your financial position continues to be optimised. Having a strong presence in each main capital city allows a seamless cross border service to be provided so that you are properly looked after and can speak with someone face to face. It’s useful to know that you will always have someone to assist you even if you may be based in one country, but your assets are in another. |
